Staircase before installation

Rather than install an elevator, the CEO of Rawlings commissioned us to make the walk up the stairs ‘really interesting’.

We begin at ground level with baseball, then evolve to basketball, then football. Called ‘Moments” because it shows those moments when the Pro’s know just what to do. We combined Rawlings products with painted imagery, and for a while had a sound installation for an immersive experience.

It’s a hit! We tried to imagine what it would be like in the outfield predicting where the ball was going to be, and getting there in time. Thirty six Rawlings baseballs are hanging from the ceiling.

Coming around the next corner the painted basketballs emerge from the wall just in time for Dr. J and Kareem and two others to get ready to jump for it.

By now you’ve walked up three flights of stairs. To create the illusion of less gravity, we have all kinds of sporting equipment floating up into the sky, out of a fantasy football locker room. We soaked the clothing in a clear resin and shaped each piece as it dried. This was all an amazing amount of work both on and off site.
